| JUNE 1ST IS "JOE GRIGGS DAY" IN ELK GROVE |

| HONORING HIS MEMORY SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY Joe Griggs was a clerk at the Shell station on West Taron and Elk Grove Boulevard. Always greeting customers with a smile and dedicated to maintaining a safe workplace, on May 14, 2007 Joe attempted to break up a fight in the parking lot of the station at which he worked. Sadly, he was stabbed to death while trying to prevent further altercation. Joe leaves behind a loving extended family, a new wife and two young children. “Joe Griggs Day” is a day for residents and local businesses to show their support for Joe’s family. On this day, between the hours of 4 pm and 8pm, local businesses are being asked to pledge 10% of their sales to the memorial fund. In return, residents are being asked to support those businesses. Proceeds will be divided between the two official memorial funds set up by Tooley Oil and Raley’s/Tri-Counties Bank. |
